Ruffling Into Spring

Hi, All!

I created this dress for a client. The color is a bold yellow and the fabric is cotton interlock. It was easy to complete taking only a few hours. She later wanted a peplum added. The dress is cute either way.

Still needs to be pressed…

The ruffle is hand stitched in place. Hope you like it!

Happy Sewing!

    • Thank you! For this look, you will have to use a sturdy fabric about 30 inches long and 7 inches wide. Serge or zigzag stitch all edges. Then hand baste to ruffle OR gathering stitch OR straight stitch then gather down the center of the rectangle. Once ruffled, pin in your desired location using an up, turn, down, turn pattern (to create flower effect). The pins allow you to reposition to get fullness. Then hand stitch in place. I hope that I made it plain, lol. I am a visual learner, so I tend to explain the same way. 😊 Let me know how your turn out.
